dreaming of big city living

I was in Boston last week for a conference, which is basically the best part about my job, I get to travel once or twice a year. I think job hunting needs to begin again before I become completely worthless.

So a funny thing that was told to me one night when I was in Boston was that if a girl wears a scarf (not a winter scarf) that it means she's available. It was said to me "I didn't know you were that kind of girl."

where good friends abound

This past week I was in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. The week entailed job hunting, a interview, sleeping on a comfy floral couch, sneaking under a fence and finding the motion sensor lights, seeing regina spektor and her cute quirkiness, learning what a dude bro and douche bag are, a bit of hand holding and numerous hugs. It was a great hang out time with friends old and new. It seems there is some potential best friend material over there in ft worth.

a mini vacation of sorts

i went to atlanta first to see my favorite boys colour revolt who are touring with manchester orchestra, which is always a good combo if you ask me. but some interesting things happened the first day in which i found amusing.

my first stop to use the restroom on this trip had a subway in it so i got a sandwich and i got back in my car and hopped on the interstate, opened my sandwich and come to find out i got the sandwich for the guy that was behind me (i laughed when i heard him order his toppings, EXTRA PICKLES EXTRA TOMATOS, that's all). so that's what i had for lunch.

next 20 miles out of atlanta i ran out of gas, not funny, but my gas low indicator light doesnt work on my car. i called my parents and they both said you dont look at your gas gauge?? i'm pretty sure i'm more of the look at my speedometer kinda girl b/c i'm not a fan of tickets. well thankfully i was able to get off at the first exit i saw and it started again after it came to a complete stop and died.

lastly, funny and random. i met up with diwang and hung out with him and went to the show together and we waited at barnes and noble for his girlfriend becca to get off of work. i bought a water and the cashier guy asked me an odd question.. "do you think your nice?" i gave him a confused face. then he tried to rephrase his question, "do other people think your nice?" i told him, "i guess i'm nice? i'm nice to strangers (in which he was one)" and then i told him, "if i say i'm nice that's like giving myself a compliment and that's weird" and then he says, "well when i saw you come in i thought to myself that girl looks really nice." OKAY? it was odd

but the show was awesome and i got to hang with my favorite boys.

the next day i woke up and drove the 4 hour drive to savannah. Sarah & Devin bought a cute old house close to downtown. it was great to see them we had good relaxing hang out time. and just about one of the first things i did was after i got the tour of the house and had some conversation was go get my stuff out of the car. apparently there is a hidden hole of a trap in thier mini yard. i'm not sure what happened but it hurt alot.

i had a great time. tonight was pretty fun too, secret show acb, it was only 3 bucks now that's a bargain. :)

the most gracious of hosts

Claudio Sanchez can surely play the guitar with his massive locks constantly being in his face. But one thing I didnt understand was why he had to play the double necked guitar, he only played on the bottom neck which is the same as a normal guitar. I was told he probably played it b/c guitar lovers like to see the guitar, that's just silly.

I'm always reminded of the fact that I have trouble staying up late b/c when 9:30 came along so did the big yawns. I'm not a fan of this getting old game. But it was a fun random night with mister Shearman. He always brings a smile to my face.
